A Proper Romance.
Ariella was only looking for a distraction, something to break up the monotony of palace life. What she found was a young man willing to overlook her title and show her a new and vibrant way of life. But when her growing feelings for Gavin spiral out of control and clash with the expectations of her station, she will discover that the consequences of her curiosity are far more severe than she’d imagined.

I watched in helpless horror as two guards hauled Gavin to his feet and dragged him from the room. My voice was frozen, unable to protest as another guard took hold of my arm, leading me upstairs. From the confines of my room, I stared into the darkness beyond my window, hoping to catch one more glimpse of Gavin. He was gone, and I wondered if he would have been better off if he had never met me.

I have such a hard time when a book comes to an end. I feel like I've spent a week getting to know people, and then they're just gone. After I finish a good book, with great characters, I feel like I have to wait a while before starting a new book...just to be respectful of my new friends. Okay, so I'm being a little dramatic. But I am going to miss Ella, Gavin, and all of her sisters. I thought the characters were well-developed, full of different emotions and actions (not perfect, but endearingly flawed), and I liked how she made a story about a princess seem real and relevant. I am NOT a lover of a romance novel. Oftentimes, I find them way too sappy filled with silly emotions that have very little do do with real life. But, I truly enjoyed "Just Ella," and I found myself wrapped up in the romance. It is definitely worth the read!!! My 9-year-old daughter repeatedly "stole" the book while I was trying to read it (she was drawn to the very enchanting cover). Even though some of the themes may be too mature for her, the content is perfectly clean, the female characters are strong, and the morals and values teach wonderful lessons. I would feel entirely comfortable letting her read "Just Ella."

Just Ella Books of Dalthia Book 1 edition by Annette K Larsen Romance eBooks Reviews

I LOVED this book!!! I love that it was clean and there was no sex or bad language in it. I also loved that the author focused on presenting the difference between real love and lust. Most romance novels are lust stories. This book is a LOVE story.

Some other reviewers gave this book a negative review saying that it was too adolescent. Well, hello! The story is about a girl who is an adolescent!!! She's trying to find her way through the difficult transformation to adulthood and I found her character to be completely real and believable. She deals with issues that every girl struggles with in figuring out what's real and what defines them as a person, what gives their lives value, and how to make the hard decisions.

I can't wait to share this book with my niece, and my mom, and my friends, and.....everyone!
ADORABLE! That’s how I feel about this book. It is a clean, very well written, proper romance. It shows the struggle of the love formed between a princess and a gardener; aka a commoner. It also shows the love and fierce protectiveness of a King (and his stubbornness) for his daughter. No one will ever be good enough for a father’s daughter, especially not royalty. There is a bond between sisters but it shows how different each sister is. There is forgiveness, love, sorrow, anger, corruptness, loyalty, honor, friendship and family here. This book just sucks you in and makes you feel it all. It shows a truly good person’s heart.

I started reading this book one day and I had an appt that night to take my daughter to and I wanted to cancel it because I wanted to finish it and didn’t want to be interrupted but I went. Then, I didn’t want to make dinner but I did and read while cooking. Then I totally ignored my family and went to read and then I realized how rude I was because I had been so absorbed in Ariella and Gavin’s story that I neglected by own story but I just HAD to finish it now! That’s how absorbed I was. I shed a few tears with her plight!

This is a story about Ariella who we see in the beginning trying to escape the palace walls to go on an adventure outside the palace. She is caught and humiliated when her mother sees her. But Ariella is loyal and wants to see and do other things than what is proper. She wants to do what others do; she wants a purpose. So, she goes to the beautifully sculpted maze and meets Gavin, the gardener, (which is very cute how they first meet) and they form a friendship. She learns about him and he teaches her about life and gardening and sneaks her outside the palace but with his protection. Then they both realize that this is more than just friendship here. But they know it cannot be.

There is a lot of heartbreak and learning and miscommunication and misunderstandings. There is also a prince who is not a good man who has had his eyes on Ariella for years and she knows he is vile and tries to ignore him but he is persistent. He makes a good villain.

I want to write more, but less is better here.

I recommend this book to anyone who wants a clean romance, who enjoys fairy tales, who liked Blackmoore or Edenbrooke, or just anyone! I would give it more stars if I could. It is just that good! I got this book for the tour on my kindle but I ordered a physical copy too because I will be reading it over and over in the years to come. It is a timeless masterpiece!
I was reading this book because of a suggestion from a book club friend of mine, and I am so glad that I did.

I just finished it, and I LOVED it! It is really well written.

I thought, based on the title that it would be another Cinderella book. (I am not criticizing Cinderella books. I love a new take on an old classic) *surprise* it was not about Cinderella at all! (Although there is a lot of talk about "slippers")

Things I really liked about this book in no order at all
First the romance
-did not take place over a short period of time.
-was not some mystically/magically all powerful force that they could not fight
-was not described in a lustful fashion.
Next the plot
- the plot was well thought out. Maybe not super twist-y, but I am alright with that.
- it has a nicely wrapped up ending. The only question they don't answer is if Ella is going to be the succeeding queen (there are more books in this series though so I have hope)
Finally the villain
- yeah, I love to hate a good villain. And there is one (villain) just for all my hating pleasure

Happy reading!
